BUSINESS CARD STANDARD
Guidelines used in setting up the business cards.
Our business cards are used to introduce ourselves and our company. In order to leave a positive impression with our customers, we want our cards to be friendly, not formal.
Standards that will be used for business cards:
- The company name and logo will be used on all cards for all locations.
- We want you to have the name you use printed on your card. If your given name is Stephen but you go by the name Steve, have Steve printed on your card. Formal titles, such as Mr. or Ms. should only be used when the name could be male or female. (Pat, Lynn, Terry) and the employee wants to include it.
- Any title other than the standard titles in the drop down menu requires management approval.
- When the employee has a specific title such as General Manager or a meaningful professional designation like “P.Eng.” this title should be on their card in the appropriate lines selected in the drop down menus.
- Give some thought before having other phone numbers printed on the card. As a general rule, residential numbers will not be used
on business cards. The employee could write any of these numbers when giving the card to a customer. The customer will feel important knowing that everyone doesn’t have that information.
- For all locations with voice mail we now show the main phone line, the “Direct Access” line, and extension. Although we are all more familiar with the use of voice mail, some customers still find voice mail very annoying and we wish to be sensitive to this.

Each time you use your cards whether in person or by attaching them to literature etc. you positively influence our customers’ impression of our company.
In order to maintain our corporate standards the cards will continue to be printed centrally.
